Product Introduction

  CVD-zinc sulfide boasts high purity, is insoluble in water, has a moderate density, and is easy to process—features that make it widely used in the fabrication of infrared windows, radomes, and optical components for infrared applications. Like zinc selenide (ZnSe), zinc sulfide (ZnS) is also a material characterized by excellent refractive index uniformity and consistency, delivering outstanding image transmission performance across the 8000nm–12000nm wavelength range. Additionally, ZnS exhibits impressive transmittance in the mid-infrared region; however, as wavelengths shorten, both absorption and scattering increase significantly. Compared to zinc selenide (ZnSe), zinc sulfide is more affordable, harder, and possesses twice the fracture strength of ZnSe, while also demonstrating superior resistance to harsh environmental conditions. These properties make it an ideal choice for manufacturing missile radomes and infrared windows in military aircraft.
